We checked a year or so ago to see how old one has to be to get a library card. I could have sworn the people told me 6 or 7. This Saturday, when we were at the library, I asked again, because the kids wanted to know. To my surprise, the people told us 5 years old. I then took my two excited kids over to the computer to type in all the necessary information. Within a few minutes, their library cards were in their hands. The kids love that they have their own library cards now, and were so excited to check out books and movies. I think they felt so special and important. It is always a good day when you can make your child feel that way. They were even still excited when I told them that their library cards have to live in Daddy's wallet except when we are at the library. I am sure that we will be spending even more time at the library now.
